Dr. Jeffrey Brittan spent his formative years in Alliance, Nebraska. He attended Creighton University as an undergraduate and was accepted into Creighton School of Medicine. After completing his family practice residency at Creighton Medical School, he accepted a full-time teaching faculty position at Creighton School of Medicine. In 1986, he decided to establish a private practice in North Platte joining Dr. Dwight Larson. In 1995, he and Dr. Conell formed Midlands Family Medicine.
Dr. Brittan and his wife, Connie, have four children. He is an active Boy/Cub Scout leader and is a board member of the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment Trust. He enjoys snow skiing, camping, hiking, art, and creating stained glass windows.

 

 

Joni Sandoval graduated from Walden University in 2015 with her Master of Science in Nursing and focus on Family Practice.  She and her husband have three children.  She enjoys spending time with her family, art and cooking.

 

 

Dr. Jason Citta is originally form Columbus, Nebraska. He received his undergraduate degree from Chadron State College in 1996, majoring in Health Sciences. Dr. Citta graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical School in 1999, and completed his three year family practice residency at UNMC's Family Medicine in Omaha. After completing his residency, Dr. Citta entered a one year Rural Medicine Fellowship to acquire further rural medicine training, including emphasis in the areas of neonatal intensive care, adult intensive care, high risk obstetrical care, and gastroenterology procedures. He completed this fellowship in July of 2002 and joined Midlands Family Medicine at that time. Dr. Citta enjoys fishing, hunting, boating, and camping

 

 

 

Dr. Shawn Murdock is originally from North Platte, Nebraska.  He attended Chadron State College under the RHOP Program as an undergraduate and completed medical school at UNMC School of Medicine graduating in 2006.  Dr. Murdock completed his residency as part of the UNMC Family Medicine Advanced Rural Training Program which prepared him for all aspects of rural Family Medicine.  After completing his residency, he returned home with his wife, Michelle, to join Midlands Family Medicine.

He currently enjoys time outside of medicine with his wife, daughter and dog.

 

Trista Borg is from North Platte. She graduated from Chamberlain University with her Masters of Science in Nursing emphasizing in family practice. She and her husband have a daughter and son. Trista enjoys spending time with her family and close friends. Hobbies include kayaking, wakeboarding, golfing, and camping.

 

Dr. Michael Nelson grew up in a small town in Iowa, before going to the University of Iowa for undergraduate studies, Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN for chiropractic college and the University of Science, Arts and Technology in Montserrat for medical school.  He practiced as a chiropractor for 18 years before going to medical school.  He met his Brazilian wife in Iowa City, when she came to visit her brother, who was Mike’s undergraduate college roommate.  In his spare time, Mike enjoys fitness, nutrition and horses.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Tyler Felton grew up in rural Colorado and Wyoming before attending the University of Wyoming for his undergraduate education. After which he went to medical school at Ross University School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. Dr. Felton then completed residency at VCU Shenandoah Rural Family Medicine Program where he was trained in emergency, inpatient, and obstetric medicine. He is now glad to be in North Platte to practice full spectrum family medicine with Midland Family Medicine. Outside of medicine, Dr. Felton enjoys being with his family, kayaking, bicycling, and watching the Denver broncos win.
