You may wish to schedule an appointment with one of the physicians in our UNMC Family Practice Residency Program. These doctors are spending the last two years of their residency in North Platte, honing their skills as rural family medicine physicians. These young doctors have completed medical school and are spending two years in the rural residency training program, specializing in rural family medicine. Midlands Family Medicine and our local medical community was selected by the University of Nebraska to host a family practice physician training program. This speaks very highly of the top quality physicians in our community, and of our local hospital, Great Plains Health. We are very proud that we were selected to host this prestigious program and we are very excited about the interest level and commitment of the physicians in our community and the hospital to mentor future generations of family practice physicians. In addition to their primary responsibilities at Midlands Family Medicine, resident physicians perform rotations with the following care providers: North Platte Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, North Platte Obstetrics, Great Plains Pediatrics, North Platte Foot Clinic, Platte Valley Skin Clinic, Great Plains Heart and Vascular Center, Great Plains Health - Cancer Center, General Surgery and Emergency Room Services, Neurology, Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology Associates, Urology, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, and Fitzpatrick Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic.

The patient care providers of Midlands Family Medicine serve as faculty and teaching staff for a variety of future medical professionals. In this role, we continue to insure future health care professionals are well educated in caring for the needs of individual families. We maintain an active teaching role for physicians-in-training, medical students, nurse-practitioner students, and nursing students.
